I teach Biblical Literature 2 (New Testament), Biblical Theology, Pauline Epistles, and Inductive Study of the Bible at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. This blog is designed for current students, former students, and anyone else who wants to dig deeper into the Bible, theology, and life in Christ.
The name for this blog, “Watchful,” is inspired by the Greek word behind “Gregory” (γρηγορέω). I hope that this blog will encourage watchfulness: attentiveness to God’s word, alertness to the relevance of theology, and readiness to respond to God in worship, discipleship, and mission.
Emily and I enjoy small town life in Indiana with our three kids. You might see us at Taylor events, youth soccer games, playing strategic board games, spending time with friends, walking our dog Lizzy, or eating ice cream at Ivanhoes (where Garfield hangs out).
